Your experience is influenced by your unique learning style, personality traits, possible life transitions, and much more. You will be treated with respect, compassion and a genuine desire to help.

Organizing Services

Sorting Together, LLC provides three different phases of residential organizing for objects or data in any room of your home. During our initial consultation, we will determine your needs.

Phase One

Determine What You Have and What You Will Keep

Phase Two

Create a System for Objects or Data You are Keeping

After completing phase one, we will designate a home for each object or piece of data. We will determine storage solutions needed and assess if the system created is easy to use.

Phase Three

Practice Using Your System Adding any Needed Changes

In phase three, you will practice using your new system. We will identify small modifications needed and re-examine the process if circumstances change in your life.

Services Offered

There are many different circumstances that you may be experiencing in your life. You will receive guidance and support to help you organize effectively and more clearly through each step.

Auction Preparation

We can sort through your items to remove anything that will be recycled, donated, sold or hauled away as trash. This will make the process easier to have photos taken of the remaining possessions that will be included in the auction.

Downsizing

If you need support in the decision making process of reducing the number of belongings you will bring with you to your new residence, we can evaluate together what will be best for you. We will decrease unnecessary duplication of items and allow a smoother transition to your new space.

Empty Nesters

In this stage of life, people are often still very busy helping their adult children and/or aging parents. We can work together to decide what your needs are for your space.

General Home Organization

If you are needing some guidance and support to know what to do with items or data in your home to allow for a more efficient and organized way of living, we can use the three phase approach to help you achieve this goal.

Home Inventory Preparation

We can work together to declutter your space when preparing to create a home inventory list needed for insurance. This will make the process easier to document items that you are keeping and give you a clear idea of what you have.

Home Office Setup

Creating a system for paper and data management can provide you with a more efficient process when working.

Moving In - Unpacking

When you arrive at your new residence, you will receive help with unpacking your items and assistance with sorting and desired placement in each room.

Moving Out - Decluttering

We can sort through your items before or during packing to reduce the number of belongings that you need to bring with you. These belongings can then be donated, recycled or hauled away with trash.

Items going to the new location can be boxed and labeled.

Personal Property Memorandum Preparation

We can use phase one to sort through your items and determine which belongings are going to be included in the document that you will draft with your attorney.

Productivity Goals

We will look at ways to improve time management, prioritizing and planning.

Seasonal Setup / Put Away

We access seasonal items for a short period of time in the year. Together, we can sort through holiday decorations, seasonal clothes, and items for your house or vehicle only needed for particular seasons. A system can be created to allow this process to be simple and clear every year when you need to access these items and put them away.

Vehicle Clean-out

In addition to your home, you deserve to feel organized in your vehicle also. We can remove unwanted items and come up with storage solutions for items you will be keeping in there.

Vital Documents

We can locate all of your important documents and create a system that allows you to easily keep track of them and place these items in a safe location.

About Me

Welcome! I am Teresa, the founder and owner of Sorting Together, LLC.  It is highly rewarding for me to combine my love of organizing and desire to help others.

Organizing is my oxygen. When I was little, it was so fun for me to regularly sort our family junk drawer and organize my Barbie townhouse. I spent many later years helping organize for different relatives struggling with ADHD, hoarding and general disorganization. I knew from a young age that this executive function of organizing didn’t come easily for everyone and witnessed the shame and guilt that often follows. One of my top goals is to help others free themselves from this and to finally believe that they are not their disorganization. My approach is to help create a customized organizing system for each person.

Having a B.A. in psychology with a focus on family studies and human development, spending several years as a technical support analyst, being a parent, taking 380 CEU’s with NAPO University and earning Certificates of Study from The Institute for Challenging Disorganization have all contributed to my strength in listening to and guiding others through the necessary steps to identify and resolve issues. I am dedicated to continual learning about the solutions for each person’s unique set of circumstances and goals.

When I’m not organizing, my favorite pastimes are doing kundalini yoga, listening to comedians, walks with my husband, spending time with my two adult daughters and cat and helping my parents.

Testimonials

When I was looking for someone to help me rethink my life’s space, there were several qualities I was looking for in an organizer – professional, caring, creative, collaborative and pleasantly fun. I was so lucky to find all of these traits in Teresa. I needed assistance getting rid of things, but also moving items into different spaces. She helped me restructure work and ‘play’ areas in a way that works for me. She asked questions that allowed me to personally think about my needs for the present and future, so I can keep the spaces effective. Teresa approached the organizing process from the viewpoint of the person’s needs and style first- not just the “stuff”. I love my new spaces and working with Teresa.

When my husband and I were in need of help to organize and execute a move from the home we lived in for almost 50 years to a smaller home, we consulted with Teresa. In our initial conversation, we shared how stressful and challenging just thinking about moving, as well as downsizing, was for us. This was an emotional life changing event for us. She was very understanding and caring about how hard this process would be for us. She assured us she would be there to support us throughout the process. She listened carefully to our needs for guidance. Teresa worked together with us to establish a plan of action. From our initial conversation, we were confident that her organizational skills, experience, knowledge, collaborative working style and caring heart were exactly the qualities we needed.

Shortly after our agreement, my husband had a medical emergency. I was so grateful that a caring and compassionate person was with me to help move the process forward. This is what I valued most. Teresa was reliable, punctual, focused, energetic and hard working. Before the move, she made sure to separate out items we needed to access, like medicine, toiletries, and clothing. I trusted her to work in my home when I had to leave to visit my husband in the hospital each day. Her primary focus was always on our emotional well-being. She was sensitive to my need to rest and take breaks, however, Teresa kept working like an energizer bunny. The final steps of sorting items for an auction, donations, and discarding were done. She arranged a mover, scheduled with an auction company, and donations were picked up. Her knowledge of resources available was invaluable. I would highly recommend Teresa.

Teresa was recommended to me by a mutual friend.  I was newly divorced with 2 teenagers and our home was cluttered with rooms not being as usable as they once were with the recent departure of certain furniture.  I felt overwhelmed and stuck, needing someone to review everything with new eyes to rejuvenate the space.  Teresa gave fresh suggestions for moving the furniture, art, posters, and shelving. That resulted in spaces being completely repurposed. It was a game changer!

The clutter was also properly addressed as an additional cathartic experience. The function and energy of the house totally shifted.  Teresa’s style and energy are both practical and creative, and her personality is so gentle that I didn’t feel pressured or pushed.  She listened and worked with what she heard me saying.  Our home is ours again and my girls and I move much more comfortably and happily in it.
